Zapati-jazz

This Jazz Fusion band was born in April 27th of 2004 in Puerto Varas Chile. Their dream was to make Latin Jazz better known and to expand it by mixing new elements. These very accomplished young men have left audiences with a sense of disbelief, not only because of their music interpretation and own compositions but also of their ability to improvise and “talk to each other” on stage.

In 2008, they achieved the international level, presenting in Bariloche, Argentina. In Waterloo they performed along side musicians such as Jane Bennett (Grammy award winner) Richard Stolzmann (KW Symphony) and last but not least, a recorded jam session with Mel brown. Zapati-jazz has also had the privilege of sharing stages with great international level musicians, names like Ernesto Holmann (Electric Bass), Eduardo Ortestes (Electric Guitar), Andres Bonnet (Alto Saxophone), Cristian Muñoz (Trumpet), Moncho Perez (Drums) and many more.

The band members are Diego Oyarzun (Trumpet), Nicolas Vargas (Tenor Saxophone), Mauricio Negron (Drums), Angelo Masias (Electric Bass), Daniel Mansilla (Keyboards), Rafael Phillips (Electric Guitar) and Felipe Salazar (Latin Percussion). This band interprets pieces from Swing, Latin Jazz, passing through Acid Jazz, Funk Jazz and Bossa Nova in unique Zapati-jazz style!
